Is there a way to cure psoriasis?

Does anyone know any way to cure psoriasis? I've been told by my doctor that there is no cure at all. And I've read some articles around where people saying that they used herb medicine to cure their psoriasis, Is this even possible? I am 19 and I am suffering from psoriasis, It is keeping me away from my social life. It keeps itching and I keep having to scratch it. I read that psoriasis is caused by allot of stress. If this is the cause, Can I get rid of psoriasis with out using any medicine by getting rid of allot of stress in my life? Or is it permanently there and am I just screwed? I am worried about psoriasis ruining my social life and my relationship life. I don't know what to do. I don't want to spend allot of money just to see the doctor and them telling me there is no way in curing it. And I don't feel like getting surgery.
